Online we are always inundated with "get rich quick schemes" and their claims of "overnight success". If you're like me you find this kind of s.p.a.m clogging up your email box on a daily bases. They tell us how easy it is. How we can just sit back and relax, do nothing all day long and still make a roll full of money. Hell, we might as well go golfing because we'll be making money hand over fist while on the golf course. :-| Now while sitting back and watching the money roll in would definitely be nice, reality is, rarely does any get rich quick scheme ever work. The promises of millions never pan out no matter how hard you try. The problem here is that so many people want and need to make more money. And they want to make that money as quickly as they can. So they believe, or hope that what the scammer is telling them will be true. But understand this, even the greatest, largest companies in the world took time and work to build. Martha Stewart for example will tell you that she started her business in the basement of her house. And look where that business is today. A multi billion dollar a year corporation. While we all can't be Martha Stewart or Donald Trump or Hugh Heffner we can have our own successful home based business if we just stay away from the scams. So, how do we spot the scams? Well, if you are serious about operating your own home based business there are things you can watch out for. Sort of the red flags of the business opportunity world. Let's have a look at some now. - Charging you for information about their business opportunity. It's pretty plain and simple. A so called business opportunity tells you all you have to do is go to your mail box pick up the checks and cash them, but first you must send them a check to get the information on how this is done. I'm of the thinking that your check is going to be the only check getting cashed here. This type of ad appears all over the internet. But if their business opportunity is so good why must you pay to find out what it is. Would it not make more sense to give you that information for free so they could get you interested in their product. I would think so! And unfortunately many people get scammed into sending these frauds the money they ask for. Then if they receive the information they paid for they will often find it pretty much useless and often they are require to send more money for more information. Stay away from these types of ads, they will not get you a successful home based business! - They want to charge you a fee to sell their products. O.K., I've got to ask - What's up with that?! If their product is so great won't you be selling them like crazy? Won't you be making money for not only yourself but for the company as well? Don't pay to sell someone else's products. - They offer you free products. Ever see these ads where you are entitled to a free (what ever) only to discover you'll need to purchase something first. ie: Sign up today and get (what ever) for FREE! Of course what they don't tell you is you'll have to purchase a sample package first in order to get the freebie. - Fly by nights Fly by night companies that pop up and take peoples money operate both offline and online. Very often they disappear without warning. So to keep yourself safe from these frauds ask yourself the following questions. Is this an established company? How long have they been in business? Do they have an actual street address or only a P.O. Box? Or worse, no address and no way to contact them at all? Do they use only an auto responder or do they have an email where you can get in touch with a real person? I know that all these points seem like common sense. But why then, do so many people ignore them. That is why these scammers can exist. Now - I want to be honest with you. It's a valid question but it's impossible to answer that question because there are just too many things to talk about in that topic! Online niche business? What's that? It's niche marketing. However, I have to agree with you that the ‘How To’ make money niche market is a profitable market. No doubts about that. So, why am I still insisting to everyone who has asked me how to make money online to explore the income potential of niche marketing? Am I afraid of competitors? That’s silly. Does Anthony Robbins worry about the other 1000’s of motivational speakers in United States? I don't think so. The reason I highly recommend someone to build a niche business is because he/she will not be competing with experienced internet marketing gurus. Like, if you’re planning to build a niche market for martial arts, you can focus on ‘ninjitsu for women’ etc. Don’t build a niche market purely on ‘martial arts’. That’s too huge a market. Now -- How many experienced internet marketing gurus are you going to be competing with in ‘Ninjitsu for women’? Hardly any. But hey, don’t go and do ‘Ninjitsu for women’, ok? That’s just an example that I plucked from the air. But here’s the most important advice: It’s not about making $100,000.00 from a niche market or whatever amount of money you set yourself to earn. It’s how you’re going to make the first $1 from that niche. Once you have done that successfully, there’s nothing stopping you from improving that online niche business’s income. Let’s talk about ‘Ninjitsu for Women’ again. The first product that you sell might be an ebook titled, ’10 Easy Ways To Master Ninjitsu Martial Art For Women’. We all put a lot of effort into our internet business. We all have the same hopes and dreams about where our internet business will go. Unfortunately we are all depended on too many variables that have to be just right at the right time. What is he talking about you might ask. Let’s take a simple example. Listening to self declared gurus of internet marketing they all tell you the same thing. “You have to build your list”, by that they mean your email list. After following this advice and spending hundreds of dollars in opt-in email leads and maintaining a list of over 5000 subscribers I was pretty convinced that success is just around the corner. This is as far away from the truth as human possible. I’m running a newsletter delivered daily and I send additional sales letters to pitch some of my affiliate products. I track every email with ad tracking and click through analysis. Guess what? Nothing! Sending daily emails and sometimes an additional sales letter would trigger something, at least a wave of cancellations, don’t you agree? Well, my conclusion of this mess is that over 90% of the emails never passed the SPAM filters. This is devastating. As you know most people sing up for newsletters through their free email accounts. The few who use their regular email address unsubscribe within a few days. Don’t get me wrong, newsletters are great and if done right they can help you to promote your business. I believe the key is that your newsletter needs to be unique and very narrow focused on a niche target. Going back to the email leads issue. purchaseing email leads from email harvesters it is a waste of money. Even if they are double or triple opt-in leads. Promoting a copied newsletter is a waste of money. Why bother to promote something that is already promoted hundreds of times? If you are targeting the people who are looking to make money online, your target audience is pretty narrow and they probably have already subscriptions to one or another form of marketing newsletter. I’m actually shifting my focus completely and put a newsletter together to help people to get started with real estate investments, especially Florida real estate. As you can see this is a very narrow target audience. If I get a couple of hundred subscribers I will be happy. The bottom line of my story is, don’t advertise to the advertiser. You just waste your time and money. That’s the main reason why people getting frustrated with their internet business and simply quit. This is like car dealers advertise solely to other car dealers. What do you think will happen? I know what you are thinking. What happened to him? Didn't he tell us in his article "Where's the Traffic?" that email lists are the cure to non-visited websites? Yes, that's true. I still believe that autoresponders are good business practice to communicate with your customers. I just didn't see the value of purchaseing email leads. Yes, I changed my opinion, which is plain human nature and happens to all of us. Some affiliate programs also have tiers. That means if someone who is interested in SELLING the product comes through your link and signs up you will also get a small percentage of THEIR earnings. This is also called internet network marketing. How do you choose the right program? Try to determine if people are purchaseing or looking to purchase that product or service online. I started trying to make money online when I was 14. Like today, there were a lot of scams out there, and being so young I was especially vulnerable. I wasted hundreds of dollars. The weird thing was I was a pretty smart kid. I knew the value of a buck. But when I came online I didn’t think that “real world” rules applied. All too often people come online and lose all sense of reality like I did. I see two types of people who fail online. The first type of person thinks EVERYTHING online is a big scam. They don’t think they should have to pay for information in e-books or for tools they will need. If you have to put money into your Internet business, it’s a definite scam. They also may be freebie seekers and try to suck all your time and knowledge away for free. Don’t get me wrong. You should always have your “Scam Radar” up when you’re online. But let’s think about this logically. Can you startup an offline business without investing any money into it? Even a small family owned business requires some startup capital. So why would an online business be any different? Starting up an online business is a lot cheaper than starting an offline one, but the same principles apply. This is what economics is all about. People make money by providing a product or service to their customers. It works the same way online. The second type of person thinks the total opposite. They throw all judgment and common sense out the window and usually dive headfirst into a whirlpool of scams. They join downline clubs, gifting clubs, “Send $5 to everyone on this list” programs; they usually spam people and end up wasting a whole lot of money. I should know. I used to be a Type 2 when I first started out! I don’t know why, but I just figured the Internet was a magical wonderland where money fell from skies of gold. Then I woke up. Type 2 people give legitimate online businesses a very bad name. In fact, they are usually the ones who turn people into a Type 1! After seeing all these scams, it’s no wonder some people look at the Internet as one big con. Type 2 people usually give up eventually and walk away with a bad taste in their mouth. They also end up looking at the Internet as one big scam. Then there is a third type of person, and hopefully you fall into this category. They see the wonderful potential of the Internet and online business, but also realize that the same universal laws of business apply. They are willing to learn what works, invest time and money in their business, and be patient and persistent. I realized after awhile that you shouldn’t try to “make money” online. That’s too vague. | I have proved that anyone can make money on the internet without having to spend a fortune. I have recently been introduced to the Plug in Profit Site. I bought the package, hooked, line, and sinker. I still can not believe that I bought this package it is totally out of character for me. I hate to spend money. I figured that it takes money to make money right? So why not! *What it did cost me was 60 bucks to get my website up and running. What I did not realize was that the program (The 30 day course) wanted me to shell out big bucks to promote my “money making website”. Maybe if I would have spent the thousand dollars as suggested, I may have gotten my first customer allot sooner. | If you are like many of the thousands of people trying to make money online today, then you are probably trying to find a program that works. I have tried Quixstar, Market America and Amway, all of which require you to build a down line and sell a product. The one and only program that I found to work is the e-currency exchange program. Electronic currency exchange is the fastest growing online business today. Currency exchanging allows users to tap into a global network where they can trade e-currencies such as INTgold, E-gold, Netpay and many more on a daily basis. Here is how it all works. Initially the user creates a portfolio that is compounded daily, with gains ranging anywhere from .3% to .5% of their portfolio value. If a portfolio has a value of $5,000 then .3% gains per day would come out to roughly $450 a month in net profit. Once a user has reached the $5,000 mark there are other ways to maximize their profits. At the $5,000 mark, the user can apply for what is called a console. A console allows the user to build float and move funds from and to e-currencies such as from INTgold to Netpay. When a user builds float, he or she is building up capital that they can temporarily lend to an e-currency to complete a transaction. Let me explain in more detail. If you have $400 in float, you can temporarily lend your $400 to an e-currency to process transactions for other traders. In return for lending that $400 to an e-currency to process a transaction they will pay you 6% of the total amount you lent to them, which turns out to be $24. The $400 you initially lent to an e-currency is now $424. Money is constantly flowing in and out of the global e-currency network, therefore is it possible to process multiple transaction just like the one above on a daily basis. E-currency is a relatively unknown, but lucrative business. The learning curve is extremely slow, however does pay off. I have tried to learn the e-currency exchange network sitting in chat rooms, reading forums and asking questions. This method became tiresome and time consuming. After spending countless hours trying to figure out e-currency on my own, I eventually purchased a guide that showed me how to maximize my trades and work the system in a simplified manner. | You know... for a few years even I doubted that network marketing was a real business... Sure, I read about how to make money at home and how easy it was to make money online. Burning the candle at both ends... listening to seminars that told me all about residual income, how to achieve the status of “network marketing professional”, reading e-books that told me how great life is at the top... But – Hey... Hold On! How do you get there? I’ve joined a business but my upline doesn’t respond to my questions... the company are ‘brain dead’ and I don’t know what I am doing exactly... Is that how people make money on the Internet? Is that any way to start off in network marketing? Will that keep me in the business? It certainly did not.
